They also detailed a headline in the May 1, 1993, edition of the Toledo Blade of the ruling in a case involving isotretinoin for acne. The Shelleys pondered the effects of full disclosure of all side effects of any drug, disease, or course of action or inaction. They discussed their own experiences with drug reactions and asked, "Must the doctor and pharmacist now frighten the patient away from the healing hand of modern medicine?"
