Traction alopecia may present in an ophiasis pattern from hair care practices. Although clinical history and physical examination may suggest traction alopecia, alopecia areata must be ruled out. New Uses for Fillers
The rapid and continuous progression of aesthetic dermatology has fostered advanced techniques using dermal fillers as noninvasive alternatives in an arena that previously was dominated by cosmetic surgery. In this article, new and emerging uses for fillers and injection techniques utilized by dermatologists are reviewed including emerging facial applications, use of microcannulas and full-face restoration, chest and breast rejuvenation, correction of atrophy and scarring, and augmentation of the forefoot fat pad.
Resident Corner: Molecular Mechanisms of Melanoma
There has been a rapid accumulation of knowledge regarding the altered molecular pathways in melanoma. With the development of target therapies such as vemurafenib and other therapies in clinical trials, melanomas may eventually be classified based on their altered molecular mechanisms. Knowledge of these emerging melanoma subtypes is not only testable on boards but also is important for potentially understanding the future direction of melanoma therapy. This article presents known altered molecular pathways in melanoma, focusing on information that may be tested on boards examinations.

America is faced with a large group of uninsured citizens who have limited access to dermatologic care. Telemedicine is a modality of care that has been maturing over the last 20 years. This editorial discusses teledermatology.
