A large part of the diagnosis of a particular skin condition deals with the consideration of patient history, environmental factors, medication history, allergic reactions, etc. In their December 1992 entries, the Shelleys discuss instances in which skin conditions may have been caused by individualized factors and how important it is to obtain a thorough history of the potential causative factors before determining the right therapy for that individual.
The Shelleys discuss extensive morphea, livedo vasculitis, diaper rash, hand eczema, "crash diet" alopecia, and more. They also provided insight on how they determined which treatments worked according to individualized evaluation.
